Lauren O’Bannon

Designer

Hello! I’m Lauren, a self-taught designer with a B.A. in Digital Storytelling from the University of Missouri. The art of storytelling has always held deep significance for me; after all, storytellers shape the world we inhabit. I see design itself as a form of world-building. Whether through garments, objects, or spaces, I’m interested in creating the physical language of a world: the textures people wear, the furniture they gather around, and the environments that quietly hold their stories.

Let’s take a moment to rewind…

Six years ago, I sat down at a sewing machine for the first time, and within a year, I created my first piece of clothing. Four years later, this journey led me to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, where I trained in the costume and wardrobe department for television and film. There, I explored the narrative power of costume design through script and character analysis, curating pieces that resonate with the essence of storytelling.

As my practice evolves, I’m expanding my work beyond clothing into furniture and object design, approaching each piece as part of a larger visual universe. I think of myself not only as a designer, but as a builder of worlds - crafting the garments, objects, and environments that shape how a story is seen and felt.

As I continue to write my story, I eagerly anticipate opportunities to blend my expertise in design and digital storytelling to create visual identities that bring characters and the worlds around them to life.

Thank you for visiting, and may your day be as beautiful as the stories we create!
